Florida has an array of pests that can make your pet uncomfortable and that can invade your home. Spraying of the yard will keep these pests down to a level of non-existent if you're consistent. There is a spray for your lawn that will last for four to six months for ticks, fleas and ants. This will control fireants as well. (Contact me for details.) Some pet owners choose to use a flea and tick deterrent directly on their pet.
It is recommended that heartworm medication be given every month, rather than June to November as you may be used to administering it.
